All web sites contain far more information than you need in one go! Use them with caution – search for what you need, rather than browsing widely. This way you will avoid too many unnecessary scares!

Please be aware that most of these sites are English sites, so things may not necessarily happen in quite the same way in France. They are all, however, official sites and DO give useful information.

The information provided on this page is designed to support, not replace, the relationship that exists between a patient/site visitor and his/her existing physician.

Macmillan Cancer Relief is a UK charity working to improve the quality of life for people living with cancer. Macmillan supports the aims of Cancer Support France and provides us with an annual training programme.


www.cancerbackup.org.uk
Cancerbackup's mission is to give cancer patients and their families the up-to-date information, practical advice and support they need to reduce the fear and uncertainty of cancer. Publications are available. Current news and developments in the treatment of cancer are shared. Provides good information without being hospital specific.

Cancer info is part of the work being carried out by INCa (Institut National Cancer). This link provides access to a wealth of information for both patients and their families. Although it is mainly in French, translations are gradually being made so that information will eventually be available in English.

CSF is now officially a partner and will be added to their list of associations in due course.

This site offers an exchange of experiences, news and views. Related to the Macmillan site.

This is the largest French cancer support association with over 100 committees across France. They provide information booklets, support groups and have been known to provide small grants to help patients. If you have a problem, and can speak French, then this is always a good source of information.

Specifically concerned with people living in France. This site offers an exchange of experiences, questions and answers. Information about cancer and its treatment is presented.

The parent site of the above. It gives access to English speaking counsellors in various regions of France.


www.cancerresearchuk.org
Cancer research is the UK’s leading cancer research organisation. This is an all-embracing site giving access to up-to-date research results as well as information about different cancers. Access to cancer nurses is also possible. It also publishes a regular free newsletter which you can subscribe to on-line, and free leaflets on different cancers which you may download or print off.

Site provided by Cancer Research UK, gives free information about cancer and cancer care. This is a very good site, user-friendly with lots of information, including up-to-date information on trials, etc


www.lecancer.fr
This site is mainly run through the Montpellier hospitals. It has a lot of info in French as well as its own forum. It also has links to many other sites including those which give help and support.

 

 

Needing help with image and self esteem – this is a good site to visit: http://www.lookgoodfeelbetter.org

 

Needing help with housework, oe meals on wheels, ADMR exists in many areas. http://www.admr.org/ Some areas have equivalent associations. Ask your doctor or at your Mairie for contact details.
