Success for Activity for Life 2021!
Cancer Support France’s main national fund-raising event for 2021, Activity for Life, has been judged a great success.
For 4 days in September participants cycled and walked around the foothills of the Pyrenees, raising money as they went. The amount raised was a record, thanks mainly to the participants but also to sponsorship from CSF’s local Associations.
CSF President, Pat Lockett said “I saw great support for each other, humour and friendships which blossomed as the days progressed. Heartfelt thanks go to everyone involved – the riders and walkers, the volunteers who organised the event, and the caterers and restaurateurs who kept people fueled for the event.”

Raise funds for the cycle ride without doing it - almost!
One supporter of CSF, who is unable to take part in the Activity for Life event, has found a novel way to participate. Jane Gawn, from Deux-Sèvres, is cycling 1600kms (which equals 1000 miles) over an extended period.
Using an app, all of her training is logged, and friends have agreed to sponsor her on the basis of the logged kms and the future ones. She goes out 4 or 5 times a week and aims to do 1600kms by the end of September.
She said “Have to say my weight loss and slightly trimmer figure is a real motivator too!! Our youngest son is planning to get married in December… so this cycling is great for how my dress will look!“
Anyone could do the same – and get sponsored by the same means as the event riders. Create your own fund-raising page here
