Introducing...
Our National Treasurer, Jean Winter
Jean joined the Royal Navy while still at university, before starting her working life in Naval Intelligence. After serving18 years and reaching the rank of Commander, Jean retrained as a Chartered Accountant and transferred to the Royal Naval Reserve where she served a further 20 years. After leaving the Navy Jean worked for three years as a forensic accountant at the World Bank, before taking up her final role as Finance and Logistics Director for a German company.
A cancer diagnosis in 2004 led to Jean taking early retirement and moving to France.
Accompanying a friend to a Cancer Support France coffee morning in Basse Normandie, which eventually led to Jean joining the local association as Treasurer, launched Jean’s relationship with CSF. A trained Active Listener since 2012, Jean took on the role of VP of CSF Nord in 2019 and has been CSF Nord President since 2020.
In addition to her role at CSF Nord, Jean has worked with CSF National since 2018, initially for a year as Vice Treasurer before becoming CSF National Treasurer in 2019.
Jean lives in the Manche area of Normandy with her husband Jon and their two dogs, Lukie who is a Broodle Griffan (cross between a Brussels Griffan and a Poodle) and Jed who is a miniature Bichon-poo ( a cross between a Bichon Frise and a Poodle).
